Royal Selangor vs Royal Bangkok Interport

The Annual Interport against Royal Bangkok Sports Club is usually held in February. But the political instability early this year forced the game to be postponed to late October this year. Pakdokter and several Buayas signed up to play for Royal Selangor. Pakdokter left late Thursday night with Zul and we picked up Muin and Rozhan at Don Muang early Friday morning while Rain was picked up by his business associate in Bangkok who sent him direct to the Lakewood Golf Course where we were booked for an optional round of golf before the weekend interport.

We chose to play Lakewood because it is near the Suvarnabhumi Airport and those who came that morning could easily be in time for a late morning game. Lakewood is a fairly flat course, not that long with narrow fairways but many lakes and bushes that punish your wild shots.

There was a tournament there that morning and the course was quite busy. We were able to play a 5-ball flight and the game costs each of us about RM275 each for green fee, caddy and buggy.

The caddies were average, not that good with their lines and could not communicate much in English. The wet weather also made the greens slow - green speed of at most 8.

We played 'tonggeng' and poor Zul suffered the biggest damage. Pakdokter played an average game but was saved when on 2 holes managed to win 40 balls!
