Seafood Dinner at a Floating Restaurant near the Ngurah Rai Airport

After golf pakdokter and the rest of the flight went for a total body massage at one of the spas near Kuta. That evening we took a taxi to a seafood restaurant built over a mangrove swamp not far from the airport.

It was a delicious mix of crabs, prawns, calamaris and steamed and grilled fish. The prices were also quite reasonable

The National GC Bali (2)

12th January 2015

Two flights of RSGC Buayas opted for the extra rounds of golf at Bali's Best Golf Course, The National at Nusa Dua, on Monday morning. Halim, Danny, Akib and Muin played 'tonggeng' and apparently pakAkib slaughtered the rest in his flight in particular pakHalim a.k.a. pakNajeeb the Dato Sri!

Pakdokter , pakKenji, pakCY ankTg Azman played Sixers with CY coming out with the biggest win. PakTg Azman also played in an individual matchplay against pakdokter - getting 4 strokes from pakdokter - and finally at last able to win against pakdokter with 12 balls!

Generous pakCY used some of his winnings to subsidise our lunch.

Bali National Golf Club Nusa Dua

Most golfers flew home on Monday 12th January 2015 after having completed the 3 rounds of golf in the Garuda Golf Challenge. Diehards from RSGC Buayas mostly opted for an additional round of golf at the National GC in Nusa Dua. This was the original Nusa Dua GC which was closed for reconstruction until 2 years ago. It is reputed to be the best golf course in Bali now. We had to pay about RM600 each ( about USD 180) to play here which covered for its green fee, buggy and caddy plus transport. This is generally the fee to play golf at most courses in Bali or Phuket and some of the top courses in Bangkok or Jakarta.

Unfortunately it was cloudy and lightly raining when we started to play that Monday morning. First impression of the club-house,the gardens and the first few holes - this golf course indeed has lived up to its reputation of being the best in Bali.

Garuda Golf Challenge 2014 Finale @ Bali - Dinner and Prize Presentations

The Dinner and Prize Presentations was held at the Ballroom of the Mercure Harvestland Hotel. It was an informal dinner themed ' Beach Party '. A buffet spread of Indonesian dishes was well received by the participants. Entertainment by a local keyboardist with two lady singers who encouraged pakTomas and pakTg Muin to show off their vocal skills. Some golfers also went up to the stage to sing.

Game 2 of the Garuda Golf Challenge in Bali @ The New Kuta

Pakdokter's flight was made up of pakTg Muin, pakKenji and pakTg Azman. As usual we played a game of 'sixers' and at the same time pakdokter played an individual matchplay against pakTg Azman. 

Pakdokter lost the 1st Nine to pakTg Azman but managed to come back in the 2nd Nine to end up square in the overall game.
