December 2014 - Another 80th Birthday Party

One of pakdokter's teacher at STAR ( Sekolah Tuanku Abdul Rahman) in Ipoh was given a big 80th Birthday Party by his nephews and neices, Mr Lau Hut Yee was pakdokter's science teacher in the secondary school as well as a warden at one of the school's hostel block ( Yellow House). Mr Lau taught at the school for nearly 34 years. He is a legend, a dedicated conscientous teacher who was firm and strict yet caring and loving. Most students from the school are very fond of him and called him Pak Lau - an endearing name that suggests that most of them looked up to him as a loving fatherly figure apart from just being a teacher.

Mr Lau grew up in Taiping to a poor family. He was a good student and was the 'Scholar' of the school ( King Edward V11 of Taiping) and won one of the school's scholarship to further his studies. Being the eldest, he chose the shortest course of studies that would have enabled him to start work as quickly as possible and earn a living in order to support his siblings and later his nephews and neices.He went to Kirkby in England and returned as a teacher two years after.

Many of his nephews and neices have become successful professionals working in Malaysia, Australia, Hong Kong etc. His sacrifice had helped make a success of his younger relatives. They had shown their gratitude and appreciation by organising this surprise birthday party.

Mr Lau's family was kind enough to invite a huge number of his students to this birthday party which was organised without his knowledge. Students from STAR felt like we were part of Mr Lau's family.

December 2014 - CY's 80th Birthday

CY Lim, one of the active RSGC Buayas and the most senior Buaya, celebrated his 80th birthday on the 7th December at his home. Nearly 100 guests made up of family and relatives, friends and of course, Buayas, came to celebrate CY's special day with him.

December 2014 - Birthday Party at Soju Bar

Early December, one of RSGC Buaya's golfer,Shazal, threw a party at Soju Bar to celebrate his wife's 40th birthday. Shazal's children also went on stage to perform a few songs - what a musical talent.

Apart from Tuty's 40th birthday, Buaya Faiz KA and his daughter also celebrated their birthdays o the same day.

December 2014 - Interport RSGC vs HKGC. The New Course

Pakdokter's group arrived into HKGC on Friday afternoon and managed to play a round of golf at the club's Old Course. On Saturday we played the Eden Course in the interclub game. As our return flight was late on Sunday afternoon we managed to book a round of golf on Sunday morning at the club's New Course.

Sunday morning was much colder than the two previous days were in Hong Kong. So naturally we all had to don layers to stay warm. Fortunately it was pleasantly warmer by noon.

The New Course is just as scenic as the Old and Eden Courses. For once, this time, pakdokter managed to play in all the 3 courses at the Hong Kong Golf Club.

December 2014 - Interport RSGC vs HKGC in Hong Kong

The interport game was played in the afternoon to be followed by dinner. RSGC was easily beaten by the home team. Prizes were given out after a great and delicious dinner. Pakdokter and the three other RSGC members who stayed at the club itself later adjourned to the club's lounge for drinks.
