Pakdokter picked up this book at the Edinburgh Book Festival. Books, in Edinburgh, and for that matter, in the whole of the United Kingdom, are not actually cheap. This little book cost GBP 8 which came to RM48. At pakdokter's favourite book-stores in Kuala Lumpur, it would be about RM36 and combined with a 3-for-2 deals that one often sees nowadays, it can be much much cheaper than buying books in the home of our colonial masters. So for those who are always complaining about how expensive books are in Malaysia ( and justifying this as the reason for the lack of a reading culture amongst our fellow Malaysians), please take note of this observation.
If our boys and girls do not read, it is simply because we have failed to inculcate in them the culture of reading .......
