Kunming By Night

Day 1: 26th June 2011

By 7pm the lanterns decorating some of the lanes were switched on adding colours to the streets.

we discovered a lane where some of the old

buildings have been or were undergoing restoration

to be turned into shops and restaurants.....

we stopped at one establishment which has been

turned into a cafe where Illy coffee was served...

and it was becoming more obvious how inflation has

hit China..........

as we were worried about not knowing how to

order our food at any of the restaurants,

we decided to go back to the hotel restaurant.....

however this so-called 4-star hotel was just as bad....

no one spoke English and we literally had to use

sign language to order our nasi goreng and sayor

and a beef dish.......
