Kunming CBD - the Pedestrian Mall

Day 1 : 26th June 2011

After the fairly expensive lunch - a reflection of the much-talked about inflation in China - we walked around the pedestrian mall of the CBD of Kunming. Free of any traffic except for battery-operated-silent-scooters moving along lanes by the sides of the mall, this area was marked by a Gate at both ends and decorated with many bronze sculptures reminiscent of many East European cities like Prague and Bratislava which pakdokter had visited some time ago.
