The Bamboo Bar of the Oriental is listed as one of the Top Ten Jazz Bars of Bangkok. Our decision to dine at this hotel was partly decided on the fact that we also wanted to check out this jazz bar. We were not disappointed. There was a jazz quartet performing there that night with a polished lady jazz vocalist whose sultry voice could be mistaken for Ella Fitzgerald. And as a surprise for the night she also crooned Louis Armstrong numbers in a voice that could be mistaken for the maestro's.
