Things One Can Do on the Cruise...

October 2007

Pakdokter's reluctance of trying out a 'cruise' holiday earlier was because pakdokter had the (incorrect) impression that a 'cruise' holiday was more for the 'super senior' citizens of the world! Apologies if this is taken to mean that pakdokter is looking down on this silver-haired ladies and gentlemen. Certainly not! But pakdokter was reserving this type of holidays for a later date when walking, hiking, bicycling or golfing are no longer within pakdokter's capacities....
How wrong could pakdokter be! Reading books on cruise holidays, pakdokter discovered that there are so many different types of cruise holidays to choose from. Cruise for the young and old, cruise for singles, families or gays!. Themed cruise - golfing cruises, historical cruises, wine discovery cruises, writing course cruises etc etc etc.
As pakdokter had intimated earlier, pakdokter decided to try out this cruise for the ports of call it went to which would have been difficult to reach on your own.
It was not a 'too pricey' cruise to boot and choosing a date towards the end of the season also helped to give pakdokter a better deal.
Yet it was still a comfortable and luxurious cruise ship as evidenced from the pictures of the cabins which pakdokter had posted earlier. There were several restaurants to choose from for the breakfasts. lunches and dinners. Meals were available at most times and one could never go hungry.
For entertainment, there were cabaret and broadway-type shows in the theatre. For 'fitness' buffs, they can jog around the deck or work-out in a fully-fitted gym. For some 'pampering' there was a spa offerring Thai, Balinese or Swedish massage.
At night, if your energy still permitting, you can 'boogie' in the disco and the 'casino' was open 24-hours of the day. And of course, shopaholics were not forgotten too! There were shops selling all kinds of stuff ( duty free?)

fancy a morning jog around the deck?...

a 'hippies' rock party at the pool-side...

coffee at the lounge...

lunch at the 'Trattoria'...

art works on sale...

and a fashion show....

we watched the World Cup Rugby live...

gambling away the spare change at the casino.....

pakdokter was quite lucky.....hit a 'bucketful' of coins at the first strike.....

but everyone else helped to give them back to the machines within a short time...

and we all then bogeyed into the night at the disco....

dinner was at booked times and slightly more formal....

on the final night the staff sang and danced as they served us...

and the Captain went around meeting up with the guests....
