Melaka 11 : The Cheng Ho Museum

Pakdokter would highly recommend the "Cheng Ho" Museum for would-be visitors to Melaka. Pakdokter must admit that pakdokter did not learn ( or was taught much) about Cheng Ho in school - unlike pakdokter's son, Rastam, who seemed to be very well-versed about this seafaring Admiral of China.
Cheng Ho was a Muslim Chinese from Yunnan who became a trusted envoy of the Emperor of China. He led several sea voyages which took him to Melaka and even Africa established and expanded trade with these regions.
Apart from a well-presented exhibition with a very informative guide who took us around the museum - there was also a 20 minute multi-media video presentation which summarised the life of Cheng Ho.
