Pakdokter drove up alone to Ipoh for the weekend reunion of the school's old boys association. On the way up, pakdokter was invited to play a round of golf at the Clearwater Golf course in Batu Gajah with Datuk Dr Awang Adek, the Deputy Finance Minister, pakWan Zin - SGC Vice-Captain and pak Ibrahim Nun, a fellow Staroban who is a resident in Ipoh.
Pakdokter chanced upon the Kelly's Castle on the way up to the golf course. It has been somewhat renovated/rehabilatated since the last time pakdokter saw it many years ago.
The golf at Clearwater was good. Although pakdokter came home with a score of 51/57, pakdoker's high handicap gave the advantage and opportunity for pakdokter to make some money from Datuk Awang Adek and Wan Zin.
Clearwater still retained its charm and beauty and is still one of the better courses in Malaysia. And the club-house also serves a good selection from its menu.
