Koba Invitation Edisi 3 : Bali - Day 2 STAROBA still led at 10.5-9.5.....

As fate would have it, pakdokter was awakened at 230 am again, this time by pakAminJidon who was suffering from a severe tooth-ache - which pakdokter suspected was from a case of root-canal infection. After giving him a selection of powerful pain-killers and instructions pakdokter went back t catch up some sleep but unfortunately this interrupted sleep again affected pakdokter's game on the second day. (excuse, excuse......)

Pakdokter and pakMesha both played to handicap 31 whereas Erik palyed to 25 and TgAzman played to 26. We started off at the 10th hole where Azman and Erik achieved pars to square the match. Pakdokter won the 11th to go 1-up only to be squared by Erik's par at the 12th. We lost to Mesha on the 13th, 14th and 15th to go 3-down before pakdokter took the 16th to reduce the deficit. But Erik took the 17th and Mesha the 18th to finish our 1st Nine with a 4 holes lead.

We stayed at 4-holes down through holes No.1 to No.3 before losing the 4th hole to Mesha to go 5-down with 5 holes to play. Azman took the 5th hole to stay at dommy-4 and pakdokter scored a par at hole 6 to remain dommy 3. We lost the 7th hole to Erik for a game over at 3-2 once again.

Mesha played well on the second day and helped carry his team. Pakdokter told him that it was very likely that he would be giving pakdokter strokes on the 3rd day.

As agreed at the end of the first day game upon a challenge by Azman, we all played a small bet of 50,000 rupiahs per hole against each other and double that for a birdie ( according to Erik and Mesha - this is the Indonesian's betting culture) and naturally pakdokter ended up being the main sponsor. Azman just escaped by a whisker......

Pakdokter was having a shower during the announcement of the results and the prize giving event but the second day results showed Staroba still leading Koba by 10.5 to 9.5. Pakdokter's team again gave away 2 points to Koba.

At this rate pakdokter and pakAzman risked not being 'invited' again in future Koba-Staroba events..........

After the prize awards - the usual auction was carried out - and pakdokter bidded to play against pakMesha for 300,000 rupiahs when his name was sold as pakdokter wanted to avenge the 2 day defeat. Furthermore pakdokter's handicap had been increased to 34 against pakMesha's which remained at 31. Pakdokter had to look for a skirt to wear on Sunday or will write to appeal to play off the red tee! ( For fellow readers information - Koba had made us play from the black tee on the second day to increase the degree of diffculty for the good golfers whom the CdM of Staroba had invited for this meet - and this strategy seemed to have worked in their favour evidenced by their better results on the second day....)
