The Olazabal Course at Mission Hill....

Friday, 17th September 2010

Our flight home was at 850pm Friday night and pakdokter's group of 4 decided to arrange another round of golf at the Mission Hills Golf Course in Shenzen which was about just under one hour from our hotel. Except for Mr Liam 'Brandy' who left home on the morning flight, pakdokter, Peter and Micheal was joined by Mr Chang See Tum, a comittee member of the RSGC.

Pakdokter had played at the Olazabal Course of the Mission Hills last year before our inter-port game with the Hong Kong Golf Club.

Even before the game started, Peter was already telling himself and the rest of the group that he was always unlucky in his golf partnerships and reminded pakdokter to not let him down again this time. Out of pity, and since pakdokter was the one who had performed relatively the 'best' compared to the other three during the QUAD, pakdokter generously offerred to give the rest 2 strokes each in every 6 holes of partnership that we played.

Pakdokter partnered Micheal in the first 6 holes and won 4 balls by virtue of Micheal's great form who got a par on the par-3 2nd hole and a birdie on the par-3 5th hole. In the next partnership, pakdokter partnered Chang See Tum and won 5 balls against Peter and Micheal. In the last 6 holes pakdokter partnered Peter and poor Peter was seriously hoping that pakdokter would maintain pakdokter's form. Alas, the 'heat of summer' of Shenzen took its toll on pakdokter's stamina and pakdokter played a horrible game throughout the last 6 holes.

Peter's bad luck continued its run and he came out the only overall loser in the game. Honestly, Peter, there was no 'sting' here. Normally pakdokter's game came back towards the end but that day in Shenzen pakdokter was too exhausted and pakdokter's best was only in the middle of the game......

Sorry, Peter....

par-3 hole No.2.....
last year pakdokter got a sandy par here...

below is a series of shots at the signature hole No. 15...

hole 15 is a par-5 535 yards long
narrow fairway along and going around the lake on the left
with easily 20 over bunkers all along it...
