Pakdokter 's driving holiday of south-west of the Republic of Ireland was supposed to start early today but travelling buddy had to do a conference call with his company at home that by the time we left our hotel in Dublin, it was already noon. It was going to be a 300km drive to Killarney and Dean O'Malley who had driven this route many years ago said that it would easily be about 4 hours at best. He said it was going to be mostly narrow and winding country road which would slow down the drive. Pakdokter, as the co-driver and the GPS navigator, took a while to get used to the SatNav system. Getting out of downtown Dublin took quite a while, it took us almost an hour before we hit the motor-way.
It was quite stressful actually trying to figure out which lane to turn right or left as instructed by the SatNav because there were so many lanes close to one another. That was mostly the reason why it took us some time to get out of the city. Once we hit the motorway - the stress of the driving got to us and we decided to break fast and find some town or village to have a late lunch. We finally stopped at a town called Port Loaisie - pakdokter pronounced it as ' Port Lousy' but Fiona corrected pakdokter by saying that the town should be pronouced as 'Port Lewis or Port louis'.
We found a cafe called 'Seasons Bistro' and had our lunch there.
