leaving Schipol Amsterdam for Prague....
snow covered hilltops over central Europe...
snow covered hilltops over central Europe...
finally, Prague Airport...
The KLM flight from KL to Amsterdam was delayed by about 1 hour and pakdokter's connection from Amsterdam to Prague had already been altered to a slighty later flight. Pakdokter was glad that pakdokter had bought an upgraded seat at the back of the aircraft which gave a better leg-room space. The aircraft was full with Dutch and other European tourists returning from Indonesia and Malaysia. Dinner and breakfast were good ( perhaps because they were different from the usual and predictable meals pakdokter experienced every time pakdokter flew MAS). And pakdokter managed to get a reasonably good sleep. And pakdokter also managed to watch two movies - one was "the Last Mao Dancer" - a true story on the life of the ballet dancer from China who defected to the US after a cultural exchange in Houston - and the other was "the American"- a thriller about a hired killer starring sexy goerge Clooney.
Schipol was not that busy at 6 am when we touched down so going through the immigration was short and easy. We had about 2 to 3 hours to kill before the connecting flight to Prague. The temperature was -3 degrees celcius and thanks to high-tech light materials nowadays, pakdokter could keep himself warm without the need of bulky and heavy winter clothes of 2 decades ago.
The OK Czech National Airlines flew a brand new A320 on this Amsterdam-Prague route and it was also almost a full load. Flying over Europe we could see the vast fields of farms and hilltops covered by thick layer of white snow. The temperature at Prague was -7 degrees celcius. Prague's airport was also not that busy, so collecting the baggage was fast and easy.
Our pick-up limousine from the hotel was there at the airport - pakdokter had sent a message via Blackberry from KLIA to inform them about the change in arrival time and the hotel had replied acknowledgement instantly.
How easy it is these days with the smartphones.......
