Some of the boys from RSGC with whom pakdokter plays golf with every Sunday morning decided to tour Jakarta in October and as pakdokter's STAROBA-KOBA Invitation was originally scheduled for November, pakdokter accepted their invitation to join the group.
The original group of 8 was reduced to 6 when 2 of them had to withdraw due to work commitment - Faidz was asked to go to India and Mike had to stay back for urgent work matters - so pakdokter, after getting permission from his sister, " Rosmah Mansor". managed to rope in Rais Mansor, to go to Jakarta. Rais in return roped in his friend, Khairul, who completed our group of 8.
Due to many changes in numbers during the last week, we could not secure enough rooms at our selected hotel. So pakdokter shared a room with pakRais and pakZulfikar shared his room with pakJohan. Hotel Swissbel is located in Mangga Dua, a good hotel for the price of RM250 a night. Although far from downtown, it is located near the exit to the outer ring-road thus allowing quick access to the toll highway to Bogor where we would be playing golf on the first 2 days.
PakZulfikar who frequently goeas to Jakarta for his corporate duties arranged a comfortable 10-seater van which sat us comfortably with all our golf bags included. For the whole duration of the 3 days - the van only cost us RM1500.
And to add to pakdokter's good-luck - the CIMB World Platinum Credit Card also gave pakdokter and others who use it a free round of golf ( green fees, buggy and caddie fee included) at Rancamaya, Bogor Raya ( and Imperial Karawaci). All one had to do was to be quick with the booking of the slots as these free allocations are limited in numbers per day at each of the courses.
