The tour of Tanzania ended today - the two main attractions of the country, the Serengeti Plains and the Ngorogoro Crater, were explored all in about 4 days. We checked out of the Ngorogoro Wildlife Lodge after breakfast, descended the mountain, signed out at the gate marking the boundary of the Ngorogoro Park as we did at the Nabii Gate when we exited the Serengeti the day before.
Noel, our guide and driver, told us we had a lot of time to spare and offered to take us to a local art and curio shop just in case we find anything to take back as souveniers to remind us of our trip to Tanzania.
these baboons were roaming free outside the lodge
a little township just after we descended the mountain
this shop was quite a bargain actually
we later discovered that similar stuff were more
expensive in Kenya.
lots of ebony wood carvings and statues
warriors shileds
water bottles from gourds
ethnic art and prints
warm Masai blankets
