The Hong Kong Golf Club played the RSGC in the annual interport match at the RSGC this Saturday morning. It threatened to rain at the early hours of the morning but the rain clouds were blown away by strong winds which helped us complete the game in a somewhat hot and humid weather which was quite a lot for the Hong Kong golfers to deal with.
The Hong Kong Golf Club sent a contingent of about 45 golfers and many of them played to single handicaps. They were indeed a strong and formidable team. Pakdokter's friends like Patrick Lam, Jimmy Pun and Adrian Cheung were in the team of the HKGC and pakdokter partnered Tg Muzaffar to play against Adrian Cheung and Cornel Kuan. Pakdokter palyed to a handicap of 24, Tg Muzaffar 21 while Adrian and Cornel played to 16 and 17 respectively.
We teed off from the 10th hole of the Old Course and after the 1st Nine we were 5 down to the HKGC pair. Tg Muzafar came back in the 2nd Nine and we managed to narrow down our deficit to 2 down at hole 4 before loosing again at hole 5 and 6 to give away the match to our opponents for 4 up with 3 to go.
In the overall game RSGC managed to draw with the strong HKGC team. The return match will be held at the HKGC in December.
