A Night at Kalapela Japanese Bar

Upon finishing dinner and prize-giving for the day we all returned to our hotels respectively. Pakdokter's partner who had ventured out into the Old Town during the day had discovered a lovely Japanese cafe/bar along the main road. So after 2 hours of massage at a nearby centre we all adjourned to the bar for a night cap.

The Kalapela belongs to a Japanese guy from Osaka with a local partner. Apart from the cafe/bar, he also has a room to be rented out on the upper floor. He has converted an inner courtyard into a lovely Japanese garden with seatings for patrons to enjoy their drinks. As our group was rather too big for the inner courtyard we were ushered into the front alfresco part of the cafe.

Te bar normally closed at 1030pm but as our group progressed from sparkling sake, to red wines to Asahis and finally coffee and dessert, the waitresses were so kind as to keep the place open way passsed midnight.
