The RSGC Sunday Buayas have been playing in a series of golf games every Sunday morning at the RSGC throughout 2014 which culminated in this trip to Chiangmai in mid-October 2014. The games were called " The Road to Chiangmai 2014" - as all the players who took part in at least 12 games throughout the year were ranked based on their best 12 nett scores amongst all the games they played during the year. The top 5 in the rankings were awarded cash prizes. Subsequently players who qualified with the minimum 12 games were awarded new reset points - the top-ranked was give 0 points, the 2nd-ranked -45 and so on and a different scoring systems were awarded based on how the player performed each day in the games in Chiangmai. This is a copy the way the Fedex Games were conducted by the PGA.
The RSGC Buayas have organised these Fedex-type competition over the past 3 years. The first was the Road to Pattaya/Fedex 2012, followed by the Road to Phuket/Fedex 2013 and now the Road to Chiangmai/Fedex 2014.
On the last Sunday before the trip to Chiangmai, the top 5 in the rankings of the RTC 2014 were awarded their cash prizes after our usual lunch.
From the above table the top 5 winners for the Road to Chiangmai 2014 Rain, Doc, Zul, Danny and Datuk Rozhan respectively. Points for each of the games in Chiangmai will be awarded as in the smaller chart in the right upper corner of the picture above.
28 golfers finally made it to Chiangmai. Apart from the Fedex games for the 19 players who qualified, the group was divided into 2 teams ( Estia and Mercure) depending on which hotel they stayed at for the purpose of playing a Ryders Cup type of team competition. Datuk Rozhan was Captain of Team Mercure and pakdokter was Captain of Team Estia and the two Captains sat to decide on who to play against who from each team on the last Sunday before we departed for Chiangmai.
