The Garuda Golf Challenge has been a very successful event. It has held 7 qualifying rounds - the November 2014 event being the last and was fully subscribed with 144 golfers.
As usual the logistics was highly commendable. The contingent was put into 4 buses and led by police outriders from the airport to the Imperial Karawaci Golf Course for a practise round on Day 1.
The Day 2 game was the first of the 2 competition games. It was played at the Emeralda GC - half-way between Jakarta and Bogor. Pakdokter had only played here once and had forgotten the course design actually. It is a 27-hole golf course designed by Arnold Palmer. We played in the Lakes and River Nines, the Plantation Nine was not in the best condition for this competition.
As usual caddies were allocated prior to the game and they all wore vests carrying the golfer's name on it.
The condition of the golf course was actually average - the greens in one of the Nines were recently hollow-tined thus making the green speed in the 2 Nines somewhat different.
Pakdokter played quite well - returning a nett score of 70 playing to handicap 24.
The day's winner played 14-under to a handicap of 22 - a real Buaya indeeed!
