Pagi yang hening........

Pakdokter woke up the next morning to witness the beautiful panorama of sunrise at this tranquil setting of Tembok. Pakdokter's partner, who normally, is not a morning person, accompanied pakdokter to enable some of her photo-shoots to be posted here.

Squatting by the local 'pura' pakdokter contemplated.......

what a life it has been......a rocky road....

awashed often by rain, storms and waves from the sea...

and in meditation by the poolside.....pakdokter planned the strategies for the next battle at Royale Jakarta or Bumi Serpong.....

not realising that the local maiden had also come out to make her 'offerrings' at the local 'pura' for pakdokter's health ...and success in future 'battles'......
so.....watch out pakTengku brothers.......

After a heathy breakfast of freshly-pureed papaya juice and brewed coffee accompanied by a basketful of croissants and brown bread pakdokter and partner were booked forthe daily spa treatment.
The first 30 minutes was a treatment called 'Segari Giri', meaning 'mountain and sea' or 'earth and water'. It is essentially almost like a sauna, soaking one's feet into a dug-out hole in the ground of volcanic earth with streams of herbal-scented hot steam heating up the chamber to improve blood circulation and relax the strained muscles.
The Segari Giri chamber was so tranquil and allowed for contemplation as one's lower torso was treated to the sauna infront of ripples and drips of the water-features at the fore-wall of the chamber.
As we endured the 'sauna' the therapists were on hand to provide gentle shoulder and neck massage to complement the lower torso treatment.
During the 30-minutes session, we were served shaved ice soaked in palm sugar to cool ourselves down and to quench our thirst.

Having finished the Segari Giri we were rested in the garden and treated to a glass of a herbal drink as well as a small bunch of frozen grapes that turn out very much like a 'sorbet'...
Once the massage room was prepared we were taken for the next 55 minutes of traditional whole-body Balinese massage. The Balinese massage differred very much from the Thai massage which pakdokter also enjoyed. It was a more gentle oil massage using long strokes and deep finger pressure, at times complemented with strokes using the whole palm.
As usual pakdokter was very quickly mesmerised into a deep snoring slumber.....

a happy rejuvenated couple.....
