By 2 pm we left the Tiger Leaping Gorge and headed to the nearest little town for lunch. We picked one by the Yangtze River and our guide, Mr Wang Da, helped us get across our orders to the chef. As pakdokter had reported earlier, sea-food and fish were rare commodities in this inland corner of China and if and when they were available, they were pricey. We ordered a steamed-fish with instructions on how to do it ( Ravee, our travelling companion is an accomplished cook) and the lunch turned out quite good. The rooftop restaurant on the 4-storey building gave a commanding vista of the Yangtze River and the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain and the Haba Snow Mountain. In between clouds that were blown away by the strong winds, we occasionally got a view of the snow-capped mountain tops.
