Before leaving for Shangrila - we had told Ms Beautiful Goose that we wished to see the famous 'Musical and Dance' Show produced and directed by China's world-class film director, Zhang Yi Mou. She dully booked for us VIP seats which cost 200 yuan each ( in Kunming - a similar show cost 290 yuan). Although the content of the shows in Kunming and the one here in Lijiang - are the same - that is they showcased the stories, cultures and customs of the different tribes of Yunnan - the Kunming show was more modern with a touch of jazz-ballet - the one here was more traditional - but the choreography, costumes, lighting, acrobatic moves were really great. This troupe in fact was showcased at the opening of the Beijing Olympics.

the audience enthusiastically applauded the 'speech'....
some opening scenes....in Lijiang, unlike in Kunming, almost everyone in the
theatre snapped and videotaped the show.....
so pakdokter and gang 'pun ikut laaa'...
