Barcelona Nov 2004 - Parc Guell

This park was the idea of Gaudi's patron - Eusebi Guell. It was to be an English style garden suburb with 60 residences. Only 2 were built however and the failed project was tajen over by the municipality. Gaudi's contribution was to design and direct the construction of the infrastructure and he did so in his unmistakable style - sinous lines and natural forms, mythological allusions, broken marbles, spiral-shaped towers and giant lizards.
