The Massacre at Santiburi....

3rd July 2009

Pakdokter and pakTengku decided to go back for another round of golf early morning the next day. We gave breakfast a 'miss' because we wanted to start early as the sun rises at just before 6 local time. We were the first and the only couple playing golf that morning and the empty but clean and 'posh' changing room as pictured below was testimony to this.

PakTengku who, in the first game, won 100 bahts from pakdokter after finally winning at the last hole again challenged pakdokter for another matchplay waging 100 bahts for every hole.

Being the ' Jejaka Melayu Terakhir' that pakdokter is....how can pakdokter not take up that challenge........!
But pakdokter forgot that the day before pakdokter had a 'Double Celebrations!'. And at an age fast approaching 60, trying to 'relive' the 'first night of 31 years ago'.....pakdokter was obviously very tired...no....very exhausted!
There was very little 'juice' left in pakdokter.
So, to cut the story short.......at the end of the 1st Nine....pakdokter was 7 down. Nothing worked for pakdokter!
Not that pakTengku played a 'great' game. He could win the hole even with 'triple bogeys'.....
A happy and jubilant pakTengku offerred a suggestion that pakdokter should title the blog reporting this game as ' the Massacre at Santiburi.....'
Pakdokter is not and was not 'offended'......so pakTengku, thank you for the suggestion, and this blog is captioned as suggested.

Pakdokter came back at the 2nd Nine winning the the 10th to the 13th holes, reducing the deficit to 3. At this point pakTengku started to show a little anxiety and made his usual 'Manglish' remark of " eh....this is cannot......"
So he took more time to address his tee, made more practice swings ( he always makes too much practice swings that pakHyder had threatened to DQ him many times before for slow play!), and so was able to square the next 2 holes and took the last 3 to allow pakdokter to reduce the deficit by 1 hole only.
With the 700 bahts that he worked soooo hard to win from pakdokter, he treated pakdokter and himself to 2 rounds of 'young coconuts'.
Thank you pakTengku...

hole No.6, steep downhill par 3 measuring 149 yards but playing for 120 yard. PakTengku used a 9-iron and sent it into the jungle on the left...

pakdokter hit the ground and sent the ball into the rough on the slope.....habiss....
