Udaipur (11): The City Palace.......

Saturday, 6th March 2010

Udaipur is the most romantic city of Rajasthan. The most visited sites of Udaipur are the City Palace and the Lake Palace.
The City Palace was built by Maharana ( Warrior) Uday Singh ( the name of the city, Udaipur is derived from the name of the Maharana Uday Singh). Entry to the Palace is through the Hati Pol or the Elephant Gate. The main part of the palace is a museum displaying artefacts ranging from protective gear and weapons etc etc.
