Udaipur (111): Scenes at the Udaipur Station...

Saturday, 6th March 2010.

We returned to the train late in the afternoon to continue on the next stretch which will be a 900 km journey across the desert to Jaisalmer Fort, which is almost next to the border with Pakistan. The Udaipur Train Station was a hive of activity and a political party?/ or a trade union was having a parade championing its cause. While pakdokter and company were having tea in our coach's lounge, the political/union procession passed by our window thus allowing photo-opportunity for the photographers amongst us. Some children who saw so many of us clicking our cameras came around and were happy to pose to be photographed. Later some of the ladies with their children came along too. These folks are no longer camera-shy or camera-averse as in the old days.....
