The Annual Triangular Game......

Sunday, 6th June 2010.

Sunday morning pakdokter played for the Royal Lake Club team in the Annual Triangular Golf Competition against the Kelab Sukan Alam Shah and the Raintree Club of Kuala Lumpur. About 100 golfers took part in this game which was held at the Tasik Puteri Golf Course in Rawang.

Pakdokter was paired with Datuk Roshdi Nordin, ex-Standard Chartered banker against the pair from Kelab Sukan Alam Shah made up of Mr IJ Lau, proprietor of the famous Jake's Charbroil Restaurant in Damansara and Mr Shahridzuan Abdullah, ex-Esso executive who is now a businessman. Pakdokter played to a handicap of 24, Datuk Roshdi 23, and both Mr Lau and Mr Shahridzuan at handicap 21.

Luckily for us, we did not bet against our opponents as they both played very well throughout the game. We were no match against the KSAS duo.

We started at the 7th hole which Mr Lau won with his double bogey against the triples that the rest of us scored. The KSAS pair also took the next two holes before Datuk Roshdi managed to square them at the next 2 holes. The KSAS pair both went into escalation over the next 3 holes with 3 straight pars! Imagine the amount of fringes we would have to pay had we decided to bet at the beginning of the game.

Pakdokter managed to par and win hole 15 and helped square hole 16 but we lost again at hole 17 before squaring again at 18. We lost hole 1 after which it was pakdokter's turn to go on an escalation, obtaining 3 pars in a row from hole 2 to 4. Datuk Roshdi managed to square hole 5 but we lost again in hole 6.

The competition was played on the stableford points format and obviously the KSAS pair did very well.

In the overall game, the KSAS team came out champion with so many of their players returning scores of 40 stableford points or more.

Well done KSAS....

Datuk Roshdi Nordin, Mr IJ Lau, Shahridzuan Abdullah and pakdokter...
