Russo and Ryo....

Sometime in February 2009, pakdokter and partner stayed with pakRosli's family in Dubai where he was then located. PakRosli is now based in Jakarta, representing his Emirati employer working on business development in logistics and the oil and gas businesses in Indonesia.
PakRosli's residence in Jakarta is in the Kemang Raya district, located in a gated community called the 'Ampera Compound" consisting of a luxurious 8-villa complex with a common swimming pool for use by all the residents. The property belongs to the Alattas family of Jakarta. PakRosli had invited pakdokter to stay with him during the Staroba Batavia Masters and both pakdokter and partner were very glad to be able to spend a great time there and to meet up with their two lovely sons, Russo and Ryo.
Russo has grown up quite considerably since Dubai and Ryo, who was just about able to walk then has now even picked up a fair amount of speech. Russo asked pakdokter where pakdokter's medical equipment was ( he was probably expecting pakdokter to listen to his chest with a stethoscope) and was proud to show pakdokter his golf set. We spent one morning hitting golf balls in their garden.
Ryo was initially anxious ( and maybe a little shy) at meeting pakdokter but quickly warmed up after a short while.
It was really nice to catch up with these two fast-growing kids again.....

Russo is now 4 years old...

pakRosli and Ryo...

a 'Tiger' in the making...

the 'kois' in the pond were mesmerising....

'uncle Kamal...where is your sister?'...asked Russo..
'sister' yang mana ni...Kamal....?

We spent Sunday morning visiting the Museum at Sunda Kelapa in Old Batavia as well as the old port where rows of boats are docked for miles waiting to be stocked up with goods to be sent to nearby islands. We then went for lunch at the 'Cafe Batavia' - an old institution of Jakarta located at the Fatahilah Square after which pakdokter and partner were sent to the airport for our return home.
