To the Ngorogoro Lodge

By late Tuesday afternoon, we had explored enough of the Ngorogoro Crater and had managed to see the hippos up close, a pair of lions once again, a few rhinos which were too far for a good view and of course the ever abundant number of zebras, wilderbeests and impalas. We started  to ascend the crater - the track uphill was more gentle compared to the steep downhill drive descending into the crater in the morning.

The drive to the Ngorogoro Crater took another 2 hours or so. The descent was on the southern end of the crater and the ascending track was at the northern corner of the crater. And our lodge was located at the southern end. So we made an almost 3-quarter circle of the summit of the crater before we reached our next lodge for the over-night stop.
