We checked out one of the cafes near the tourist information center and went in for lunch there. Lunch was a helping of beef slices cooked over a hot stove - the meat slices and the tofu pieces being put on a piece of a dried out leaf from one of the local trees.
pakdokter settled for the more familiar steaming soba noodle soup
dessert was a bowl of bubur kacang merah with ice cream
