The marina of Llanes was built along the river which bisects the town in the centre. The river opens into the harbour and the ocean beyond. Most boats are small to medium sizes - and judging from the abundance of fishes in the crystal clear water of the river, the town has done a great job in ensuring that the river remains very clean for life to thrive.
