The 2nd of July is an important date for pakdokter for two reasons - one it happens to be the date of pakdokter's partner's birthday and secondly it is also our wedding anniversary date. During our last trip to Tuscany some ten years ago , we learnt about the Palio Festival which falls on this date and pakdokter's partner had made pakdokter promise that we will come back here on this date to celebrate these two occasions. We were distracted by trips elsewhere over the years until the latest James Bond movie had the Palio race in its opening scene. So the plan for this trip was revived and pakdokter is very happy that our 10 year wish has now finally materialised.
Hotel Athena in Siena has a rooftop dining terrace which gave a commanding vista of the town as well as the surrounding Tuscan country-side. We could not have asked for a better setting.
To pakdokter's partner, Happy Birthday and many many more years of happy returns.
And to us, 'Salute' ( Cheers) to 32 years of a happy partnership.
And to Raena, as well as to our friends, Ravee and Siti, and Ben Haron and Sandra, thank you for sharing this precious moment with us....
