The STAROBA-ASAS Annual Match was played at the KGPA. Pakdokter partnered pakRosliAzadKhan who happened to be back from Jakarta for a holiday. We played against the Alam Shah School pair of Datuk Zainal Dahlan and Datuk Mohamad Md Yassin - two doctors against two Datuks!
Datuk Zainal and Dr Rosli played to a handicap of 16 and pakdokter and Datuk Mohamad played to 22. The match was played on a hole-by-hole total stableford points format. The pair with the higher total stableford points for the hole wins the hole.
We teed off from hole No 2 of the Hill Course and pakdokter scored a par for this par-5 hole as well as the next par-3 hole. Pakdokter could sense the doubts in pakdokter's opponents about pakdokter's handicap especially when our pair was 3-up at the end of the first Nine.
However both the Datuks came back strongly in the second Nine and we lost the match 3-2 at hole 16.
In the overall game STAROBA lost to ASAS 11.5 to 7.5.
In the series which has been played over the past 9 years, STAROBA is still leading by 6 to 3.
