The Palio festival started early in the morning of the race. Each of the horses representing the contradas were first taken to the local churches to be blessed by the respective contrada's priests. Then the horses will be paraded to the Piazza del Campo ( the city square) and will be put for trial runs. In fact trial practice runs were carried out for the several preceeding mornings.
Pakdokter had had a long day the day before and could not wake up for these morning events. But pakdokter's partner and Ravee woke up at 6 am and were able to capture the colourful full-dress events of the morning. Pakdokter is looking forward to view their photographs in due time.
Pakdokter woke up and walked down to the piazza at about 9 am after the practice run was over. And all pakdokter could witness was the army of city workers preparing the square for the afternoon race.....
