From Tokyo to Hakodate, Hokkaido.....

Friday, 24th September 2010

Rastam was able to get two days of leave on Friday and Monday and we had planned a short weekend holiday in Hokkaido. Due to limited time, we decided to spend all the three days in Hokkaido only. Pakdokter had tried to buy the ANA ticket flying from Tokyo to Hakodate on-line from Malaysia but it would have cost RM 1800 for each of us! So Rastam bought the three tickets for us in Tokyo for RM800 each only....

The ANA flight left from Haneda Airport - so we took the train from Rastam's apartment at Shin Egota to Daimon and from there we changed to the monorail which took us to Haneda.

The Edo Line train from Shin-Egota where Rastam's apartment is located at took about 40 minutes to reach Daimon - from where we changed the train to go on to the monorail to Haneda Airport. It took about 20 minutes from Daimon to Haneda. The whole train ride cost 780 yen ( RM 30). The flight out to Hokkaido from Tokyo took about 1 hour.

Haneda looks a more modern airport than Narita ( although it was th first international airport for Tokyo) and both Malaysia Airlines and Airasia will be flying into this airport come December 2010.
The flight to Hakodate took only slightly more than one hour.
