As his New Year gifts to the family, Rastam booked for us tickets to see the "Blue Man in Tokyo". This famous group of percussionists from New York were doing their round in Tokyo. The matinee ticket cost 7500 yen each and we were lucky to be able to catch the group here.
They play a mix of jazz, blues, pop and rock tunes using percussion equipments consisting of drums filled with paint and a collection of pipes and tubes improvised to create tones and pitches that can make a complete music. Apart from the electric music, their performance which often encouraged audience participation was very entertaining.
