The first game of the STAROBA Golf Club this season was played at the Tasik Puteri Golf Club in Rawang. 37 golfers signed up and took part in the game.

Pakdokter was scrolling down the Facebook on Sunday morning when pakShahidan came on-line to chat with pakdokter on the Facebook. He asked whether he could play in pakdokter's flight and pakdokter told him that it was 'bisa diatur...'.

Pakdokter sent a text to the Captain requesting that pakShahidan be put in pakdokter's flight together with pakdokter's batch-mate in STAR, pakAhmad Khalid. And as it turned out our flight was made up by the three of us and pakHamid Shafie, who was in the same batch as pakShahidan.

So we decided to play a partnership match between the two batches - pakdokter and AK from batch 1964 and pakShahidan and pakHamid Shafie of batch 1966. We started from the first Putri Nine, waging a bet of 15/5/5 and all fringes included. AK played to a handicap of 13, pakShahidan 18, and pakdokter and pakHamid Shafie both 24. It was a close game until the 8th hole when the 1966 batch went one up helped by the benefit of a stroke from the Index 2 par-3 hole. We squared the last hole to lose 3 balls minus one fringe which AK obtained from a birdie in one of the holes.

We doubled up in the 2nd Nine Putra - and pakHamid Shafie played like someone with a handicap of 18. He did an escalation ( 3 pars in a row), they both had pars on one of the holes thus giving them 2 fringes easily. AK managed to reduce the deficit by getting a 'birdie' fringe on one of the holes. Pakdokter has been on a slump since the start of the year and did not manage to contribute much.

In the end pakdokter and AK lost RM65 each to the 1966 pair. We agreed to a replay in the next monthly medal and to start with a bet of 30/10/10 strarght away. In fact AK requested that this match be continued for the whole year!
