To the Bilbao Feve Station

31st May 2014

After almost 2 hours at the tapas bar in the Old Quarter of Bilbao, we walked back towards the Nervion and admired the colourful apartment blocks across the river facing the  Bilbao Market - Mercado de la Ribera. Crossing a bridge we came across the Bilbao Feve Station - which we thought was the Main Train Station of Bilbao.

Looking up on the internet - we now realised that the Bilbao Abando - the Bilbao Main Train Station is a huge complex serving the Renfe ( wide-gauge intercity rapid train) the Feve Train ( small-gauge train connecting Biscaya to Cantabria and on to Galicia), the Bilbao Metro, Bilbao Tram and also a hub for bus services. There is also a shopping mall at the station ( which we missed out) as well as cafes and restaurants.
