After the light late lunch and a bit of shopping at several curio shops, we took the local bus back to Hakone. The trip was much faster than the way up to Lake Ashi but was equally scenic although it took a somewhat different route from the one going up.. We reached Hakone at around sunset and the temperature had dropped down considerably. We walked along the main street before turning left and uphill along a narrow street that led up to our ryokan.
