Spanish Restaurant @ Akasaka

When in Tokyo - Rastam would meet up with us for dinner almost every night and since his office was near Akasaka, we would pick up one of the many restaurants there. This Spanish restaurant had a great choice of tapas. We shared the bowl of sauteed mushrooms ( above), meat-balls in a tomato gravy and a plate of sea-food paella ( Spanish nasi goreng). The Japanese owner and chef who came to talk to us had run a Spanish restaurant in Barcelona for many years before returning to open this outfit in Tokyo. He had earlier considered to open his restaurant in South East Asia and had looked at Thailand and Malaysia.
