The Brand New Army Golf Course.....

As recommended by the German couple who played with pakdokter at the Imperial Lakeview on the second day, pakdokter booked to play, on the third day, at this brand new golf course, just opened for play about two months ago. Its club-house was not yet ready and the green fee was a give-away 1000 bahts only. For this reason, the course was very full with many golfers taking advantage of the cheap fees.
As pakdokter was alone, pakdokter was asked to join another 'solo' player who happened to be a staff of the US Embassy in Bangkok. He works in the 'commercial intelligence' desk of the office. Pakdokter learnt from him about the operations of the 'Russian Mafia' most of whom have chosen to set up base in Pattaya and are big into money-laundering, credit card fraud and 'white slavery'....
At that time, the 'Wikileaks' have not made it into the papers yet, otherwise it would be interesting to try and get out from him some 'gossips' about our ' Malaysian' characters...heh heh...
He had to leave after 9 holes, and so pakdokter invited the flight behind pakdokter to join as play was being held up by slow play by the many flights in front. The flight behind was made up of 3 players, 2 elderly Norwegian gentlemen who had bought and set up home in Hua Hin for their winter stay and return home only for the summer months. One of them is married to a lovely Thai lady....and she played fantastic golf, all the time 'outdriving' all of us so much so that the caddies joked and told her that she must be a 'lady boy....' They were all quite fun.....

the yet to be completed clubhouse...

this was a flat beachfront golf course and
the winds from the sea was always strong...

new condominiums typical of Hua Hin seafront...

cute half-way house...

many streams and lakes to challenge...

a great course to walk......
if you are not fit, buggies are available...

Huan Hin this winter was unusually cold and windy....
temperatures during the day went as low as 20...
great for golf!...
