Heavens for Sea-Food...

As pakdokter had reported earlier, there were so many sea-food restaurants lined up along the beach-front just within a walking distance away from the Hilton. We decided to visit one of these outfits for dinner.

the restaurants were built on stilts (bagans)
jutting out into the sea...

the Hilton seen from the restaurant we dined at...
rows and rows of other restaurants on either side...

Christmas lights were put up...

the Chao Lay Seafood was recommended
to us by the concierge at the hotel...
amongst its distinguished visitors were
His Majesty the King and Queen
and guess who?..
Elvis Presley and Julie Powers......

baked clams to start...

steamed mussels with basil leaves appetiser..

pineapple rice and.....

baked lobster........
one kilogramme cost about 1500 bahts ( RM150)....
the dinner for 2 and drinks came to about 2500 bahts.....
definitely a better deal (for the same price) than at the hotel....
