This session was put up to discuss ways to stimulate children to appreciate poetry. Ragdi F Daye, a teacher in a religious school in Padang - due to his lengthy discussion in Bahasa Indonesia and a slow and sometimes unclear English translation - did not manage to help pakdokter learn much from him. Malaysian Shirley Lim probably was the highlight of this session. She described her project at the University of Hong Kong where she conducted a programme to get children to appreciate and write poetry.
