Food for Thought

From the Left Bank Lounge pakdokter next rushed to the Indus Restaurant for a plenary discussion on the delicious writing about food. Heinz Von Holzen, chef at the Hyatt in Bali for 17 years? talked about Balinese food and corrected most people's assumption that the most common Balinese dishes are the nasi goreng, the satay, the mee goreng and the gado-gado. He said these dishes originated from China and elsewhere and pakdokter's own 'hypoglycaemia' by then affected pakdokter's concentration and did not quite remember what he finally considered to be the truly Balinese cuisine and food. Was it the home-made tofu?......

The other panelists - chef James Oseland and Peta Mathias must have discussed some aspects of writing about food but pakdokter must admit that by then pakdokter's attention was poor and pakdokter has forgotten the gist of their discussion.
