The Laguna Lang Co Golf Course

Our 3rd game was played at the newly-opened Laguna Lang Co Golf Course - located about 2 hours away to the north of Danang along the coastal highway towards the other Unesco World Heritage site township of Hue. We had to leave our hotel quite early for the 7 am tee off - and as usual our hotel gave us a packed breakfast of bread and butter, a slice of a banana cake, a box of yoghurt, 2 hard-boiled eggs , a banana and a bottle of mineral water.

The drive to the Laguna Lang Co Golf Course went up a mountain highway whcih cuts the mountain through a 6km tunnel. It was a slow drive past some fishing villages reminiscent of a drive along the coast of Terengganu.

The Laguna Golf Course was opened in late 2012. The course was designed by Sir Nick Faldo and developed by the Singaporean developer of the Banyan Tree fame. The Banyan Tree villas and the Angsana apartments were the choice of accomodation at the site.

The golf course is also 'links' in nature. Pakdokter who then played to a handicap of 30 came home with 38 stableford points - quite a commendable performance with 6 pars to boot. Unfortunately on the 4 lowest-indexed holes pakdokter blew them with double pars. Otherwise pakdokter could have easilly topped the 40 points barrier.

 nothing-to-shout-about breakfast
a new golf course, also links style

modern clubhouse with first class facilities

caddies serving pakdokter were sweet and good at their work

The Banyan Tree villas and the Angsana apartments were also on sale
a 900 sq-feet studio sells for USD300,000 with an option
for exchange to Angsana apartments at other sites like Bintan, Phuket etc etc
An apartment owner can use his property for up to 60 days a year,
the remaining days the apartment will be rented out as a hotel unit
and the annual income shared 60/40 between operator/owner.

we stopped at a seafood restaurant for lunch at Lang Co beach
