Day 5 : A Turkish Nasi Campur Lunch

The weather in Istanbul became colder on each day we were there and as it also rained when we finished the tour of the Dolmabahce Palace - we decided to hop on to a taxi to go back to Taksim Square. The taxi drove us through the Nisantasi district - a posh-looking suburb built up with upmarket apartments and shopping malls, evident of the new-found economic prsperity of this Islamic republic.
As we were feeling quite famished we walked into a local restaurant which served their dishes much like in any of our 'nasi campur' stalls in Malaysia. We made our pick and paid at the counter before going to an empty table.

pakdokter took a plate of pilav with a piece of roasted chicken
pakdokter's partner chose the lamb kebabs and added a
plate of boiled broccolis and peppers filled with minced meat
all these came to about 25 lira ( RM50)
