Ring of Kerry (3): Waterville...

Thursday, 4th August 2011
We drove past the town of Cahirciveen and stopped at the next town of Waterville. Now looking up the websites on tourism in Ireland - pakdokter realised that we should have stopped at Cahirciveen as there were some interesting sites to look at there including the O'Connell Cathedral named after O'Connell the "Liberator" of Ireland. Pakdokter assumed that the O'Connell Street in Dublin where the GPO was must have been named after the 'Liberator' also.
The lesson learnt here is ' always read before embarking on a tour especially if it is a self-drive holiday without a tour guide.'

we were attracted to this craft centre and made the stop...
a restaurant across the craft centre...
a typical Irish sky....

those new link-houses must have been built during the 'good times'....

the main street, Waterville....
the esplanade...

you guessed right...we did not puasa.....
