Chiang Rai Day 4 : A Short Trip to Laos

Laos is a short boat ride on a fast boat across the Mekong River. The district of Laos at thos Golden Triangle is seeing a tourist development in the form of a golf resort and a casino. Similarly, a casino is also located on the other side of the river in the Burma province. The lovely gateway that welcomes tourists into Thailand as the disembark the boats from the Mekong River in the picture above is undergoing repair and reconstruction after being damaged by a 7 Richter earthquake that struck Burma last year.
