The Le Meridien Chiang Rai was a short 15 minutes drive from the bus terminus. It is one of the 5-star resorts of the city, located by the bank of Mae Kok ( River Kok). Being an SPG member, pakdokter's room was upgraded to a suite overlooking the swimming pool and the river. It was a very pleasant welcome indeed.
